Shravanabelagola

Shravanabelagola is one of the most prominent Jain pilgrimage centres located 145 kms from Bengaluru, India. Shravanabelagola is famous for one of the world’s tallest, 57-foot-high monolithic statue of Lord Bahubali. The area is steeped in history and rich with art and architecture. Several beautiful temples can be found on two beautiful hills Chandragiri and Vindhyagiri.

Mastakabhisheka

Mahamastakabhisheka is a once-in-twelve-years ceremony, when the Lord Bahubali statue is anointed with holy water, turmeric and sandalwood paste. The event is held under the leadership of Swasti Sri Charukeerti Bhattarak Swamiji of Shravanabelagola. Almost 40 lakh visitors are expected to visit Shravanabelagola in February 2018.
